About the project

The Museum Remote Telescope (MRT) is a joint project of the Museum of Vysočina in Jihlava and the Jihlava Astronomical Society. The project involves the creation of an exclusively online-controlled astronomical observatory, based on a 12-inch (0.3m) telescope located in a separate dome on the northwestern edge of Jihlava.

The telescope is intended primarily for observing variable stars and exoplanets, as well as for astrophotography. Over time, the observation program will expand. The project is designed as a tool for both professional and amateur astronomical activities, as well as for the educational work of the Museum of Vysočina in Jihlava and the Jihlava Astronomical Society.

The goal of the project is to create an effective, stable, and accessible platform for professional astronomical observations and data collection within the citizen science initiative.
